Cada vez que la escucho, estoy automáticamente de regreso en el 2001. Al ritmo de la pegajosa tonada, los recuerdos adolescentes se suceden como una película en mi mente. Y es que tiene ese espíritu alegre y divertido que tanto me hace recordar a los días del colegio.

El siempre controvertido Robbie Williams se une a Kylie Minogue, una de las mayores intérpretes del pop-dance actualmente, para cantar a dúo Kids, single lanzando en el 2000 en su álbum Singing When You're Winning. La mezcla de sonidos britpop, rock y hip-hop, más la elegante sensualidad de las voces de Robbie y Kylie, hacen de esta una excelente canción.

Jay Kay, líder de Jamiroquai

El mayor exponente del género acid jazz de los últimos tiempos es, sin lugar a dudas, la banda británica Jamiroquai. Fundada en 1993 por el cantante Jay Kay, éste fusionó el nombre de la tribu norteamericana Iroquai (Jay es seguidor de su filosofía) con el término jam (proveniente de jamming) para crear "Jamiroquai". El grupo se haría mundialmente famoso con su tercer álbum Travelling Without Moving (1996). Virtual Insanity fue el primer single, y escaló al #1 de los rankings musicales de muchos países, gracias a su pegajosa tonada groovy. Además, el video-clip se posicionó como uno de los 100 mejores de la historia de MTV.

Desde Liverpool, la tierra que vio nacer a The Beatles, llega una de las mejores bandas de pop/rock británico de los últimos tiempos: Lightning Seeds. Fundada en 1989 por el cantante y guitarrista Ian Broudie, el grupo se consolidó a mediados de los 90's como uno de los máximos exponentes del britpop. ¿Te suena conocida? Lo más probable es que sí. No es otra que la canción de la campaña publicitaria de Movistar de este año, aunque la escuchamos por primera vez en 1998.
